Do we need to be a registered nursery?

Yes, to join Emergency Childcare you do need to have at least a satisfactory OFSTED status.



What are the benefits to the nursery?

Emergency Childcare is a simple way to increase your revenue by occupying otherwise vacant places. You remain in control of the prices and spaces at all times, so you have the freedom to use the system as much or as little as you like. It is a good way to introduce local parents to you with a strong possibility that full time parents could be recruited.



How does it work?

There are a few simple steps:

  • You can register for free online, either by clicking on 'Childcare Providers' from the top navigation bar, and then 'nurseries' in the drop down menu. Alternatively click 'Register' and 'Register as a nursery' from the homepage
  • Fill in your details taking extra care to ensure they are accurate
  • Once your status to OFSTED has been verified you will receive a confirmation email
  • Your nursery page is taken live and you're ready to take bookings

What happens if I receive a booking and the nursery is full?

We strongly advise that you update spaces as soon as your availability changes, as all bookings must be honoured. It is not possible to decline bookings, as this means that the service wouldn't run smoothly.



How will I know when I receive a booking?

You will be alerted to a booking via an email. The email will contain full details about the child(ren). On your first booking we will call you to talk you through the process and answer any questions that you may have. We also advise that you include your mobile number on your registration form so that you can be alerted to bookings via a text message.



How can I login to my profile?

Once you have registered you are able to log back into your profile to make amendments. To do this you will need to go to www.emergencychildcare.co.uk/nursery (only after first being contacted by a member of the team), and login with your email address and password. Please be aware that you will not be able to log on to your profile by going via the main web site.



How do I get paid?

On the first of each month we will send you a cheque for your hours, minus the 20% commission that we take on each booking. You can also choose to be paid by BACS. You are in control of your prices and can factor in our commission when setting prices.



How do I update my spaces?

There are two options. Firstly you will receive an email every other Monday that allows you to update your vacancies. Secondly as soon as you are aware of a change in availability, you can log back into your profile and click on 'spaces', to update your vacancies.

If no spaces are showing and a parent is interested, a member of our team will call you to see if there is availability.



How much notice will I get?

Parents can book with 30 minutes notice or up to 3 months in advance. We will call you first to confirm if on the same day.
